Student Learning Outcomes
- Select appropriate fall protection systems based on job tasks, work conditions, and identified hazards
- Conduct pre_use inspections of fall protection equipment and identify defects or conditions requiring removal from service
Description
This course covers topics related to fall arrest and fall restraint systems, fall distance calculation and selection, and inspection of appropriate fall protection equipment.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the proper use of fall protection systems, including fall arrest and fall restraint equipment.
- Demonstrate skills in calculating fall distances, selecting appropriate systems, and conducting equipment inspections.
- Be authorized to use fall protection equipment in the workplace.
- Be a trainer, once they complete additional training.
Course Content
- Proper use of fall protection systems; understanding fall arrest and fall restraint equipment
- Calculating fall distances and determining safe limits; selecting appropriate fall protection systems for various work scenarios
- Conducting thorough inspections of fall protection equipment
- Gaining authorization to use fall protection equipment in the workplace upon course completion
