Description
This is the third of three courses focusing on interprofessional education (IPE). This course includes an overview of the health care team, professional communication issues in health care settings, and values and ethics for interprofessional practice. Enrollment is limited to students accepted in an allied health program.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Discuss the role of the health care team and collaborative practice
- Evaluate and demonstrate effective communication strategies in the health care environment with patients and the health care team
- Analyze legal/ethical health care case studies and formulate a decision based on ethical/legal criteria
- Write a professional resume and prepare for employment in the health care field
