Non-Credit: Foreman Development Level II for Electricians

Program Description

The Certificate of Completion in Foreman Development Level II for Electricians is part of a partnership with Cupertino Electric, Inc. to offer a Continuing Education program to their electricians. The program covers National Electrical Code (NEC) updates, OSHA, construction and workplace safety practices, NFPA 70E, soft skills, project management, and more. The program provides electricians with the necessary 32 hours of continuing education every three years for license renewal and ensures electricians are up-to-date with code changes, safety standards, and emerging technologies.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Apply, evaluate, and adjust project approach to comply with the latest NEC updates.
  • Establish safe work conditions.
  • Demonstrate proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Identify the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) categories based on specific hazards.
  • Articulate the proper emergency response protocols for electrical shock victims, including release methods and CPR/AED awareness.
  • Understand schedule management creation and expectations.
  • Recognize workplace hazards and environmental conditions that affect operations.
  • Demonstrate safe operating procedures, including starting, driving, maneuvering, lifting, and parking with company equipment.
  • Communicate and coordinate with teams on project deliveries.
  • Understand the different resources available at Cupertino Electric to help deliver project success (PreFab, BIM, Constructability & Support Center).
  • Demonstrate how to read blueprints and specifications for all trades disciplines involved in the project construction.
  • Understand the estimated cost of a project and set expectations to manage project deliverables.
  • Deliver final project to customers per specification and drawings and ensure the QA/QC process is followed and executed.
  • Apply soft skills to lead crews for safe and positive outcomes.
