Description
A just-in-time approach to core prerequisite skills, competencies, and concepts needed in Statistics. Intended for students who are concurrently enrolled in STAT C1000 at Foothill College. Topics include a review of skills, including percents, rounding, order of operations, interpretation of graphs, solving linear equations, solving inequalities, and applying formulas.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Explore topics related to developing effective learning skills.
- Solve problems involving percents.
- Round numbers.
- Apply the order of operations.
- Analyze graphs.
- Solve equations.
- Solve inequalities.
- Apply formulas.
- Use technology, such as graphing calculators and/or computer software, to assist in solving problems involving any of the topics in (2) through (8) above.
- Discuss mathematical problems and write solutions in accurate mathematical language and notation.
- Interpret mathematical solutions.
