Description

Advanced experience in athletic emergency care, athletic injury prevention, therapeutic treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Observation of orthopedic surgeries, assisting in physical therapy clinics or other related allied health settings complement the on-campus Athletic Treatment Center.

Course Objectives

The student will be able to:

  1. Design and apply comprehensive rehabilitation programs
  2. Discuss details of specific injury case studies
  3. Complete individual projects
  4. Complete career preparation projects

    1. Upper extremity (surgical or non-surgical)
    2. Lower extremity (surgical or non-surgical)
    3. Application of functional rehabilitation exercises
  2. Case studies

  3. Individual project
    1. Team coverage end of year review
    2. Off-season strength and conditioning program
    3. Inventory review and supply bid
