- Implement the Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program (AEGCP) effectively on job sites
- Demonstrate the correct selection, inspection, and use of ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs)
Description
This course covers topics related to basic construction electrical hazards and safe practices, including Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program (AEGCP) and ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs).
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Identify and mitigate basic electrical hazards in construction environments through the application of safe work practices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program (AEGCP) and the correct use of ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) to ensure electrical safety compliance.
Course Content
- Information on the following topics:
- Deaths by electrical hazards
- The effects of electricity on the human body
- Working around power lines, contact with live circuits, ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs)
- Proper and improper use of extension cords
- Electrical power tool safety
- What to do if a person gets shocked
