Description
This course covers topics related to the basic hazards of lead-containing materials and lead-based paint, along with the steps to identify and avoid actual or potential exposure to leaded materials and lead-based paint.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate awareness of the basic hazards associated with lead-containing materials and lead-based paint.
- Recognize potential sources of lead exposure and apply safe work practices to avoid actual or potential contact.
- Equip to support a lead-safe work environment and comply with applicable safety regulations.
Course Content
- Overview of lead-containing materials and lead-based paint hazards
- Health effects of lead exposure
- Recognizing signs of lead-based paint
- Identifying potential sources and locations of lead on job sites
- Methods for avoiding disturbance of leaded materials
- Proper handling and reporting procedures
- Basic exposure prevention strategies
- Regulatory requirements and CEI protocols for lead safety compliance
