Description
This course covers topics related to lockout/tagout training, including creating an electrically safe work condition, and the elements of the company's LOTO program.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Create an electrically safe work condition.
- Identify energy sources, apply lockout/tagout devices correctly, and follow LOTO procedures to ensure personal and coworker safety during the servicing and maintenance of equipment.
Course Content
- Introduction to lockout/tagout (LOTO) concepts and regulatory requirements
- Identification of hazardous energy sources; steps to create an electrically safe work condition
- Proper application and removal of lockout/tagout devices
- Overview of the CEI LOTO program and documentation requirements
- Responsibilities of authorized and affected employees
- Verification of isolation
- Responding to unexpected energy release scenarios
- Periodic inspection and program compliance
- Unique LOTO policies and protocols specific to the Facebook DC workplace when applicable
