Student Learning Outcomes
- Set up laser levels for horizontal and vertical alignment tasks
- Calibrate devices to ensure accuracy within manufacturer tolerances
- Apply laser safety protocols to prevent eye exposure to the beam
- Store and transport precision laser equipment to prevent damage
- Demonstrate safe operation of HILTI powder-actuated tools according to HILTI guidelines and CEI safety standards
- Perform correct storage procedures for powder-actuated tools to maintain safety and tool integrity
Description
This course covers topics related to the safe operation, handling, and storage of HILTI or non-HILTI powder-actuated tool(s) or HIlTI laser tool(s).
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Use HILTI laser tools or powder-actuated tools safely and effectively in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company's safety protocols.
- Properly handle and care for laser tools, as applicable.
- Inspect tools before use and store properly to prevent damage or misalignment.
Course Content
- 1 hour training for HILTI Laser Tool Operator
- Overview of HILTI laser tool functions and applications
- Identification of laser classification and related hazards (e.g., eye exposure risks)
- Safe operation procedures
- Care of laser tools and correct storage practices to prevent damage or misalignment
- 2 hours training for HIlTI or non-HILTI Powder-Actuated Tool Operator
- Introduction to HILTI or non-HILTI powder-actuated tools and their applications
- Identification of tool components and functions
- Safety hazards associated with powder-actuated tools
- Properly handle, load, and fire procedures
- Tool inspection and maintenance
- Safe storage practices; selection and use of appropriate fasteners and charges
- Specific safety protocols and HILTI manufacturer guidelines
