Student Learning Outcomes
- Operate bucket and attachment controls smoothly for grading and moving materials
- Maintain stability while navigating uneven or sloped terrain
- Execute safe entry/exit procedures (3-points of contact) while the machine is active
- Perform daily maintenance checks on hydraulic lines and tires/tracks
Description
This training course provides a comprehensive foundation in equipment safety standards, maintenance procedures, and best operating practices as outlined in the equipment's user manual and tailored to the specific operational characteristics of the assigned skid steer/bobcat.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of the safe and effective operation of skid steer/bobcat equipment.
- Operate skid steers in accordance with CEI policies, manufacturer guidelines, and industry best practices, with an emphasis on equipment-specific familiarity and safety compliance.
- Understanding load capacities, stability, and operational limits.
- Control functions and maneuver techniques.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Course Content
- 8 hours training for Skid Steer/Bobcat Operator
- Overview of skid steer/bobcat machine types and common applications
- Review of operator responsibilities and general safety guidelines
- Equipment inspection and maintenance procedures
- 0.5 hour training for Skid Steer/Bobcat Operator Renewal
- An abbreviated version intended to renew a former operator
