- Identify terrain hazards that could cause vehicle instability

Description
This course provides an overview of the safety rules and regulations to operate a UTV and golf cart at Cupertino Electric.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Understand how to inspect, operate, and maneuver UTVs and golf carts safely on job sites and other controlled environments.
- Demonstrate proper use of seat belts and personal protective equipment (PPE); demonstrate proper hazard recognition (terrain conditions, visibility, pedestrian traffic).
Course Content
- Overview of company requirements for UTV/golf cart operation.
- Pre-use inspection procedures
- Proper start-up, operation, and shut-down techniques
- Safe driving practices, including speed limits, turning, and stopping distances
- Load capacity and passenger limitations
- Use of seat belts and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Hazard recognition (terrain conditions, visibility, pedestrian traffic)
- Parking and securing the vehicle
- Rules, signage, and operational restrictions
- Consequences of misuse and incident reporting protocols
