Student Learning Outcomes
- Select the appropriate tie-down equipment (chains, binders, straps) for specific load types
- Demonstrate proper knot-tying and ratchet strap techniques to secure loads
- Inspect load securement devices for wear, damage, or defects
- Apply safe tensioning methods to prevent load shifting during transport
Description
This training course provides an overview of the company's Equipment Tracker Portal, a user-friendly platform for managing equipment rentals. Additionally, it covers hands-on training of safe load securement techniques using knots, straps, chains, binders, and other devices.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the proper process and techniques for load securement devices and use of knots, ratchet straps, binders, chains, dunnage, netting, flagging, and signage.
- Use the company's Equipment Tracker Portal for their projects.
Course Content
- 0.75 hour training on safety process of load securement
- Dos and don'ts for ratchet straps and different tie downs
- 0.5 hour training on use of the company's Equipment Tracker Portal
- Functions and tools

1. When taught in-person, clean classroom with monitor and printed material for students to take as reference materials.
