Student Learning Outcomes
- Create custom tool sets for repetitive markups and estimations
- Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements directly from PDF drawings
- Manage document versions and overlay pages to identify changes
- Generate markup summaries for RFI or punch list tracking
Description
This course builds on the introductory Bluebeam course and introduces students to the pre-populated profiles developed by the pre-construction team. Students will gain hands-on experience using these customized profiles to streamline their workflows and enhance productivity.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Create customized markups for site planning and coordination.
- Develop dynamic tool sets that auto-resize based on the PDF's scale.
- Work with BIM and 3-D images.
- Utilize Bluebeam Studio for team collaboration and reviewing logistics plans.
- Integrate Bluebeam Revu with existing Excel templates for seamless data management.
- Generate accurate, detailed reports to share with CEI internal or external team members.

Lab Content
- Exercises that set up custom measurement tools, perform takeoffs, and calculate quantities and costs.
- Exercises that organize large sets of drawings, manage revisions, and utilize markups and statuses to track project progress.
- Setting up various batches to automate repetitive tasks.
- Exercises that generate and export measurement data and markup lists into Excel or other formats.
- Exercises that customize toolbars and profiles to streamline the user interface for specific workflows.
Special Facilities and/or Equipment
1. When taught in-person, clean classroom with monitor and printed material for students to take as reference materials.
2. When taught online, this course requires access to CEI's Learning Management System (Amplify), ongoing access to a computer with the necessary software and hardware to view video content, and a reliable intranet connection.
