  • Create and organize comments and markups for effective document tracking

Description

This course covers the basic requirements of the Bluebeam program, including how to import PDFs and begin using markup tools to annotate drawings and sketches effectively.

Course Objectives

The student will be able to:

  1. Understand profiles and upload CEI's custom profile.
  2. Place markups on drawings and change visual properties of markups.
  3. Create and share a custom tool set and save markups into tool sets, uploading CEI's custom tools.
  4. Flatten markups.
  5. Reorder, rotate, replace, and insert pages within a PDF.

Course Content

  1. Introduction to Bluebeam
    1. Overview of Bluebeam and its applications in construction projects
    2. Navigating the Bluebeam interface and toolbars
  2. Importing PDFs
    1. Supported file types and import options
    2. Organizing and managing imported files
  3. Using markup tools
    1. Overview of basic markup tools: highlights, text boxes, clouds, lines, and stamps
    2. Applying markups to drawings and sketches
  4. Saving, organizing, and sharing markups
    1. Saving marked-up files and versions
    2. Using layers and organizing markups
    3. Exporting and sharing documents with teams

Lab Content

  1. Using Bluebeam Revu to place markups on drawings and change visual properties of markups.
  2. Using Bluebeam Revu to create and share a custom tool set and save markups into tool sets, and upload company's custom tools.
  3. Exercises that reorder, rotate, replace, and insert pages within a PDF.

Special Facilities and/or Equipment

1. When taught in-person, clean classroom with monitor and printed material for students to take as reference materials.
2. When taught online, this course requires access to CEI's Learning Management System (Amplify), ongoing access to a computer with the necessary software and hardware to view video content, and a reliable intranet connection.
3. Access to Bluebeam Revu and Adobe Acrobat.
