Student Learning Outcomes

  • Utilize BIM 360 to document inspections from Factory Acceptance Testing through energization
  • Manage digital checklists and issue tracking (QA/QC) within the platform
  • Generate custom reports on assets and project status
  • Employ QR codes to expedite data entry and asset tracking in the field

Description

This course is an introduction to the Quality Program process and the BIM 360 tool used for QA/QC and CX.

Course Objectives

The student will be able to:

  1. Document the inspection and testing of equipment and construction from Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through energization.
  2. Manage checklists.
  3. Create Issues.
  4. Define various Issue traits, such as statuses, priorities, types, etc.
  5. Identify the Assets module and explain how the Sample Assets Template and Locations Template are related.
  6. Generate custom reports, including reports on Assets and Checklists.
  7. Use QR codes to help expedite the use of the BIM 360 tool.

  1. Overview of the Quality Program
    1. Purpose and goals of a Quality Program
    2. QA vs. QC vs. CX: definitions and differences
    3. QA/AC workflows using BIM 360 tools
    4. Documenting and managing quality issues and inspections digitally

Special Facilities and/or Equipment

1. When taught in-person, clean classroom with monitor and printed material for students to take as reference materials.
2. When taught online, this course requires access to CEI's Learning Management System (Amplify), ongoing access to a computer with the necessary software and hardware to view video content, and a reliable intranet connection.
