Student Learning Outcomes
- The student will be able to implement a project or carry out a task at the appropriate level of difficulty, as determined by the instructor, with guidance and oversight such as will be expected in entry-level professional positions in the field.
- The student will be able to conduct independent research into available project frameworks on the Internet and evaluate their fitness for the purpose.
Description
Provides an opportunity for the student to expand their studies in Computer Science by completing a project or an assignment arranged by agreement between the student and instructor. The student is required to contract with the instructor to determine the scope of assignment and the unit value assigned for successful completion. Students may take a maximum of 6 units of Independent Study per department.

- Successfully complete a practical milestone in the application of one or more theoretical concepts learned as part of other study in Computer Science.
