Student Learning Outcomes

  • Conduct the study by means of literature research, fieldwork or laboratory work or other means mutually agreed upon in the student-faculty contract as appropriate for the discipline.
  • Present the results of the study in a written or oral report or by some other means as determined by the contract

Description

Provides an opportunity for the student to expand their studies in Art beyond the classroom by completing a project or an assignment arranged by agreement between the student and instructor. The student is required to contract with the instructor to determine the scope of assignment and the unit value assigned for successful completion. Students may take a maximum of 6 units of Independent Study per department.

Course Objectives

The student will be able to:

  1. Plan an independent study project in Art.
  2. Conduct the study by means of literature research, fieldwork, or laboratory work, or other means mutually agreed upon in the student-faculty contract as appropriate for the discipline.
  3. Present the results of the study in a written or oral report or by some other means as determined by the contract.
