Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Describe the control loop process
- Describe the basic logic functions
- Describe analog and digital functions
- Identify components used in DDC functions
- Describe minimum requirements of a DDC system for HVAC
- Write a written program logic for basic HVAC functions
- Write a DDC control sequence of operation for basic HVAC functions
- Draw a graphic schematic of a HVAC control system
- Write a DDC block program for HVAC control function
Course Content
- Describe the control loop process
- Describe the key elements and functions in a control loop (Lec and Lab)
- Describe the basic logic functions
- Describe the basic logic functions: OR, AND, IF/THEN
- Describe analog and digital functions
- Describe the attributes of analog and digital inputs for HVAC control systems (Lec and Lab)
- Describe the attributes of analog and digital outputs for HVAC control systems (Lec and Lab)
- Identify components used in DDC functions
- Identify the main components in a DDC HVAC control system (Lec and Lab)
