Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
A. Develop drawing templates
B. Combine multiple drawings
C. Set up and manage utilities, files, and libraries
D. Edit fittings and connectors for download fabrication
E. Print reports and plot drawings
Course Content
A. Develop drawing templates
1. Enter data input from catalogs to database files for utilization during drawing input
2. Format rectangular and round fitting standards, tag files, and utilities for the drawing process
B. Combine multiple drawings
1. Import and export .dxf files
C. Set up and manage utilities, files and libraries
1. Backup and restore catalogues and drawing files
2. Set up and exit equipment libraries
3. Access data files and configure files
4. Access set-up files and edit utilities
5. Recover corrupt drawing files
6. Create custom catalogs and symbol sets
D. Edit fittings and connectors for download fabrication
1. Access and edit attributes of fittings during and after the drawing process
E. Print reports and plot drawings
Lab Content
Students will work individually and in teams on HVAC system design and detail CAD drawing:
A. Practice using third party CAD software, focusing on creating and changing file libraries
B. Editing construction parameters within the software
C. Plotting and downloading using CAD software onto a CAM system

This is the standard Sheet Metal textbook/workbook used for this course. Although it may not be within 5 years of the required published date, it is the most current book used when teaching this course.
