Description
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
A. Demonstrate advanced techniques in GMAW welding, and basic techniques for oxy-fuel and plasma cutting, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding.
B. Demonstrate welding techniques in various weld positions.
C. Prepare for welding certification.
Course Content
A. Demonstrate advanced techniques in GMAW welding, and basic techniques for oxy-fuel and plasma cutting, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding
1. Safety for all welding and cutting processes
2. Skills review in processes noted
B. Demonstrate welding techniques in various weld positions
1. Identification and demonstration in vertical and overhead position welding
2. Practice in position welding
C. Prepare for welding certification
1. Certification process
2. Weld symbols
3. Code interpretation and requirements
Lab Content
Students will work on lab assignments including welding projects, as assigned by the instructor. Safety precautions are covered in detail.
