  • A student will be able to describe the operation of pneumatic thermostats.
  • A student will be able to demonstrate pump alignment procedure.

Description

Introduction to HVAC fundamentals, energy sources and control system principals. Focus on pneumatic, electrical, electronic and building automation control systems and components.

Course Objectives

The student will be able to:
A. Describe HVAC system requirements and heat transfer principals.
B. Identify various types of HVAC system components and system energy sources.
C. Describe control system principals and components.
D. Describe pneumatic control system components and applications.
E. Define electrical control system principals and devices.
F. Identify and define solid state devices.
G. Perform electronic control system applications.
H. Perform building automation system installation, testing and troubleshooting.

A. Describe HVAC system requirements and heat transfer principals

6. Calibrating and trouble shooing pneumatic control devices
E. Define electrical control system principals and devices

Lab Content

Students will work individually and in teams on troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic, electric and electronic control devices.
