- A successful student will be able to describe the process of adopting a National Electrical Code Standard.
- A successful student will be able to discuss the NEC Codes and their purpose.
- A successful student will be able to identify the importance of conductors and explain the types of conductors.
Description
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Identify different renewable energy systems and sources in the electrical industry.
- Utilize digital multimeters and power quality analysis devices properly and efficiently.
- Develop as leaders within the industry (foreman, general foreman, etc.).
- Identify and understand the requirements associated with health care installations.
- Identify and describe hazards and safety requirements associated with confined spaces.
Course Content
- Skills assessment preparation
- Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP)
- Installation and maintenance of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE)
- Site assessment, load calculations, wiring methods, applicable codes (including NEC), utility coordination, and safety protocols
- Foreman development
- Project planning, crew supervision, resource management, scheduling, safety compliance, and effective communication
- Detailing/take offs, manpower
- Elective modules
- Power quality analysis
- Utilizing instruments associated with power quality
- HCAI/OSHPD
- Job site preparation documentation associated with health care installations
- Code navigation in the NEC associated with health care installations
Lab Content
- FA, motor controls, and lighting controls
- Hands-on evaluation
- Utilizing power quality meters and digital multimeters
