- Recognize normal and abnormal anatomical structures.
- List the differential diagnosis that is responsible for sonographic changes.
Description
Fourth course in the critique and pathology series. Continuation of DMS 60C. Includes critique of normal and abnormal anatomical images of pediatrics and second and third trimester obstetrics. Emphasis on the clinical presentation of pediatric and female patients. Intended for students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program; enrollment is limited to students accepted in the program.
Course Objectives
The student will be able to:
- Describe the normal findings in sonographic images of the pediatric abdomen and second and third trimester obstetrics in oral communication
- Describe the abnormal findings in the sonographic images of the pediatric abdomen and second and third trimester obstetrics in oral communication
- Explain the relationship of the clinical history, symptoms, and laboratory findings with sonographic images of the pediatric abdomen and second and third trimester obstetrics
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with the clinical preceptors
