Description

Focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs), this course aims to give students the skills needed to analyze results of marketing efforts. Students will learn about factors that drive conversion and how to optimize their efforts using data and A/B testing. Students will be assessed through projects that give them an opportunity to get hands-on experience using spreadsheets and Google Analytics, and analyzing an A/B test.

Course Objectives

  2. Demonstrate the ability to A/B test various elements of marketing efforts to increase conversion rates.

Types and/or Examples of Required Reading, Writing, and Outside of Class Assignments

  1. Reading assignments: Students will read assigned eText and articles from industry publishers, such as AdWeek magazine and the Wall Street Journal, and industry websites, such as Google AdWords and Facebook Ad Manager.
  2. Writing assignments: Given real-life scenarios, students will analyze customer data and make recommendations.
  3. Additional assignments: Students will complete projects designed to practice data modeling, analysis, and reporting, and calculate key performance metrics.
